• Proclinical founded by Daniel Smart and Richard Thomas in October, 2005, as a specialist recruitment agency in regulatory affairs and medical affairs
• Operations based in UK from offices located directly opposite the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in Vauxhall, London

2007

• The company grows rapidly and organically to a turnover of £1M and diversified into drug safety and clinical research recruitment
• Deliver retained search offerings for senior level vacancies
• Develops the USP of hiring only life science graduates as recruitment consultants

2008

• Secure preferred supplier status with major global brand leading pharmaceutical companies
• Diversify into the areas of quality assurance, pharmacovigilance and medical information
• Partner with emerging biopharmaceutical companies for key employee talent acquisition projects
• The team outgrows Vauxhall offices and moves to Westminster
• Sales floor grows to work across all R&D sectors

2009

• The business expands into European markets including Switzerland, Germany and Belgium
• Agreed supplier terms and conditions with more than 200 companies across Europe
• Increase database to more than 10,000 active candidates across Europe

2011

• Exhibited at major industry conferences across Europe including the DIA and TOPRA
• Diversify into recruitment for physicians and health economics and outcomes research professionals
• Expand to turnover of £6M

2012

• Further Tier 1 PSL agreements signed on a Pan-European basis

2013

• Open offices in Munich and Brussels
• London team outgrows Westminster headquarters and moves to new offices in Shoreditch
• European operations exceed 100 onsite contractors
• Daniel Jones appointed as the Managing Director – EU 

2014

• Membership for APSCo certified
• Exhibited in a number of events including: TOPRA, Phuse & Ispor
• Start of our specialised blog providing industry news and job tips
• Placement growth of >200%
• EU Commercial Delivery function established

• Launch of Singapore office under Martin Grindrod who is appointed as the Managing Director in the APAC region.

2015

• Proclinical Legal Entity established in Switzerland and offices open in Basel and Zurich
• Over 400 active jobs on the Proclinical website
• Global growth of 45 personnel in the Proclinical team 
• Proclinical named “Top Scientific Recruiter” by Kelly Services
• John Bowler appointed as the Client Services Director in Switzerland 

2016

• Two-time APSCo award winners
• Proclinical named ‘Resourcing Supplier of the Year’ by Agile1
• Awarded ‘Supplier Excellent Award’ by Kelly Services
• Launch of two Proclinical teams in the USA: Daniel Smart managing the New York office and Tony Mitchell appointed as Managing Director of the Philadelphia office
• Proclinical welcomes 29 additional members of staff globally

2017

• Granted prestigious swissstaffing membership and SECO licence to recruit contract staff for Swiss life science companies
• Passed the 300 contractor mark
• Official launch of Proclinical Executive brand

2018

• Acquired by Independent Clinical Services (ICS) in May
• Passed the 400 contractor mark, with contractors placed in 20 countries across three continents 
• APSCo winner of Recruitment Company with the most Sustainable Growth award
• Launch of first team in China with office opening in Shanghai: Tom Tan appointed as Client Services Director to oversee operations in China
• Launch of two new offices in the USA: San Francisco and Chicago

2019

• Office launch in Frankfurt, Germany
• Office launch in Beijing: Marks growing success for Proclinical China
• Recognised with the Kelly OCG Supplier Award for Excellence for the 5th year in succession
• Official launch of Proclinical Consulting: a specialist branch providing end-to-end strategic, operational and commercial guidance for life science businesses

2020

• Paul Strouts takes over as CEO 
• Our parent company, ICS, is renamed Acacium Group
• Proclinical team grows to over 200 employees globally
