US biopharma, expansion
into Europe
Case study
The overview
A US based rare disease biopharmaceutical company, partnered with us to build out their regional key account managers team in the DACH region for an upcoming European wide product launch.
The challenge
We were retained on an exclusive basis to support the preparations for an expected product launch the following year. We were initially engaged to search for a commercial lead, which we did successfully, and were then tasked with recruiting multiple regional key account managers across the DACH region, who would support market penetration in 2018. The key challenge was sourcing local talent with the appropriate skillsets in the niche area of rare disease.
The solution
We conducted extensive market mapping of subject matter experts, utilising our unparalleled knowledge of the market and region, and mobilised local language speakers. This ensured that candidates were spoken to in their own language and created a smoother experience for both candidate and our partner.
A shortlist of 27 candidates was presented, 15 of which had initial telephone conversations. In partnership with the company, we ran two assessment centres in Munich where a total of 9 candidates were interviewed. These were well received by the candidates, and our partner was impressed by the smooth running of the process.
The outcome
- We successfully worked to the agreed deadline of 8 weeks to help our partner hire 5 regional key account managers for the DACH territory
- We continue to support the company across multiple divisions
