Global pharmaceutical company, country safety lead
Case study
The overview
We partnered with a global pharmaceutical company in Australia to help their talent acquisition team to fill a challenging contract role in pharmacovigilance (PV). This was an urgent and crucial role for the organization whose TA team were finding it challenging to fill at short notice.
The challenge
The current country safety lead was on maternity leave and this was a stand-alone role that was the main point of contact for all PV locally. The interim replacement for the incumbent handed in their notice only a short amount of time into their 12-month contract maternity cover so there was no one looking after the PV function. The replacement needed to be a highly skilled and experienced PV professional with a broad range of experience across drug safety. This required a quick turnaround so that there would be an adequate handover. This role was started as an 8-month contract but due to COVID-19, candidates were reluctant to leave permanent/longer term contracts for a short-term maternity cover contract.
The solution
We were engaged exclusively by the company to help support the recruitment for this crucial, time critical role. Given our expertise in this space and broad PV network, their talent acquisition contact trusted us to provide suitable candidates. We acted on a consultative basis, providing constant updates on the market and the barriers that were becoming common and we suggested this role move to a 12-month contract to make it more appealing for candidates. After submitting a shortlist, we provided realistic timelines, managed the candidate’s expectations, took care of interview organisation, preparation, feedback, offer management and references.
The outcome
We highlighted a fantastic candidate that hit the brief and was able to start straight away.
This was all accomplished in just 2 weeks.
Throughout this process we established ourselves with the organization as a trusted recruitment partner and continue to assist them with challenging roles.
