Global vaccines company, pharmacovigilance team build
Case study
The overview
A global vaccines company partnered with us to build out their new pharmacovigilance division, with an immediate focus on high level support.
The challenge
Our partner urgently needed 2 experienced contract drug safety physicians to start within a month. However, as a newly formed company, they had no internal talent acquisition structure in place. The VP of pharmacovigilance had a previous working relationship with us from a former company and approached us to become their exclusive recruitment partner to run the process. The company was unknown to potential candidates, so our challenge was to manage and deliver their message to the marketplace for the first time and promote their employer brand. They perceived themselves as being entrepreneurial in nature, with a ‘sleeves rolled up’ mentality, and wanted people who had a similar mindset to join them.
The solution
Our team of specialist consultants reached out to our extensive network of qualified and immediately available contractors, whilst conducting talent mapping to identify further individuals who were technically suitable. We developed and delivered a strong, partner approved narrative to the market, becoming brand ambassadors. We advised on price range and offered a shortlist of 5 individuals at a variety of cost levels which were reflective of their experience. We managed the interview process entirely, liaising with the legal, finance, and HR teams in the US, helping to implement a structure within the company for the future onboarding of contractors.
The outcome
• Through their collaboration with us, 2 contractors were taken on within the given timeframe and within budgetary constraints
• Both candidates were invited to and accepted to extend their contracts
• We subsequently helped them to hire a further contractor and were enlisted to build their permanent pharmacovigilance structure and support them in other vertical markets including regulatory affairs and clinical research
