Global pharma, new senior appointment
Case study
The overview
A global pharmaceutical company, with a diverse portfolio, partnered with us to exclusively oversee a new senior appointment – business intelligence lead – to be based in Switzerland.
The challenge
The company had recently undergone divestment in their biosimilars unit and was looking to appoint a business intelligence lead to head up their operations in Switzerland. This was a challenging role to fill as it was a niche area to source in, with a narrow and specific pool from which to highlight and engage suitable candidates. We also had to educate the candidate community on the recent divestment, as there was some confusion in the market about how the company was now structured.
The solution
We were engaged exclusively, and we had full oversight of the position which afforded us the opportunity to create a consistent image in the candidate community. We conducted market mapping across Europe, not only by competitor global pharmas but also looking at competitor companies who worked within the same business unit area (biosimilars) and smaller consultancies, along with biotechnology companies. As this was a new role for the business, we advised on salary expectations, educating our partner to allow them to secure the best talent. We utilised headhunting tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, and engaged with our legacy candidates to compile a shortlist of 8 highly suitable individuals, out of which 5 were interviewed.
The outcome
Through collaboration with us, 3 candidates were taken through to final interview and the successful hire made.
This project was conducted within a 4-week period, from initial conversations through to offer being made.
Following this success, we are now supporting our partner across their market access and pharmacovigilance divisions.
