Sr Research Scientist, Protein Purification - Contract - Wilmington, DE

Proclinical is seeking a dedicated scientist to join the structural biology research team as Senior Research Scientist.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be required to focus on accelerating gene-to-structure workflows through the expression, purification, and biophysical characterization of recombinant proteins and complexes. This position is crucial for supporting Cryo-EM and Crystallography projects.

Skills & Requirements:

Experience in protein expression and purification.
Understanding of vectors and cloning strategies for various cell systems.
Ability to work independently with guidance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in drug discovery programs using structural biology is desirable.
Creative, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple programs.
Cryo-EM and Crystallography experience is a plus.

The Sr Research Scientist, Protein Purification's responsibilities will be:

Conduct protein expression through transfection in mammalian cells, baculovirus generation, and bacterial systems.
Design and optimize purification protocols using chromatography techniques.
Perform biophysical characterization of proteins, including analytical SEC and thermal stability assays.
Maintain detailed experimental records and analyze data for stakeholder presentations.
Collaborate with the structural biology team to enhance protein stability and functionality.
Support daily operations and development strategies for the protein production lab.
Troubleshoot protein expression to improve yield.
Deliver high-quality purified protein samples for structural studies.
Follow established workflows efficiently and reproducibly.
