Senior Shipping and Logistics Specialist - Contract - Lexington MA
Proclinical is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual for the role of Senior Shipping and Logistics Specialist.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be required to manage the shipping and storage of critical materials, including drug substances and research materials. This role focuses on clinical and commercial shipping, logistics, and trade compliance.
Skills & Requirements:
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience in logistics within the Pharma/Biotech industry, including GxP and GDP environments.
- Proficiency in managing shipments from external suppliers.
- Experience with temperature-controlled shipments.
- Knowledge of tax and customs duties strategies.
- Detailed understanding of import/export requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Capability to work independently and within cross-functional teams, including Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and R&D.
The Senior Shipping & Logistics Specialist's responsibilities will be:
- Schedule, execute, and track domestic and international shipments of lab samples, raw materials, drug substances, and drug products.
- Ensure proper shipping documentation and compliance with international shipment requirements.
- Accurately value materials and assign proper tariff codes.
- Resolve logistics issues with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
- Analyze temperature data for shipments.
- Manage inventory effectively.
