Proclinical are recruiting a Senior Scientist - Virologist for a biotech corporation. This role is on a permanent basis and is located in Oxford. The client is focused on finding and developing products and vaccines.

Responsibilities:

You will work under GRP situations, with the suitable requisite training and documentation.
Contribute to the development and run lab meetings, as well as present information when needed to individuals both in and out of the company.
Attend at least one pertinent scientific meeting/course per year to continue educational growth.
The ideal candidate will conduct quality control assays on research-grade viral vectored vaccine plans such as physical titer, infectious titer, sequence verification, transgene expression, etc.
Review and conduct analytical assays to determine the quality, yield, stability, etc., of particular candidates or manufacturing procedure situations when necessary.
Support with ordering supplies, making reagents and upholding the lab to perform required experiments.
Other duties may be assigned to this role.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Educated to an advanced degree level with at least 4 years of experience working in a lab or educated to a PhD degree level in a virology/molecular biology.
Pertinent work experience, with familiarity in lab bench work with molecular biology and cell and virus culture systems.
Competent in designing experiments and performing research using numerous strategies, such as design and cloning of mammalian expression cassettes, PCR, DNA sequence interpretation, ELISA, western blot, viral growth curves, viral titers, transfections, virus purification, etc.
Communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Computer literacy in MS Office applications.
A self-starter with the capacity to work within a fast-paced setting.
Capable of adapting swiftly to changing requirements and prioritise of the company.
Able to prioritise workload and handle various tasks simultaneously.
