Senior Accountant (m/f/d)

Proclinical is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our client's team remotely in Germany. This role focuses on managing accounting operations for business units in Germany and the USA, collaborating with various departments. We are looking for someone who can efficiently handle financial accounting tasks, including accounts receivable/payable, general ledger management, and payment transactions. The position also involves generating invoices, managing open items, and overseeing the dunning process. You will be responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Additionally, you will support internal and external audits and assist the Director of Finance Europe during absences.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounting operations for business units in Germany and the USA.
• Process financial accounting, focusing on accounts receivable/payable and general ledger.
• Handle payment transactions and serve as a contact for suppliers and customers.
• Generate customer invoices and manage open items and the dunning process.
• Conduct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Review and reconcile the general ledger.
• Participate in continuous quality management projects for accounting and reporting systems.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Assist the Director of Finance Europe with financial accounting issues during absences.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Commercial training as a financial accountant or equivalent.
• Proficiency in financial and asset accounting according to HGB and US GAAP.
• Experience in preparing financial statements and a strong commercial understanding.
• Knowledge of accounting software, particularly DATEV; experience with Quickbooks and Lucanet is advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with other MS Office programs.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Analytical mindset and openness to new methods.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English and German.
