Proclinical is seeking a dedicated Scientist for Lab Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of analytical and pre-analytical lab services to support clinical trials. This includes kit receipt, specimen management, specimen preparation, and lab analysis across a broad spectrum of methods and technologies. The role also involves ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results to support clinical trials research.

Responsibilities:

  • Executing and documenting analytical procedures in accordance with company procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Helping with troubleshooting and improvements to increase data quality and lower costs.
  • Acting as a technical resource for laboratory staff and supporting the team in the absence of the line manager.
  • Carry out routine data analysis to determine if an analytical procedure is proceeding according to expectations and that the results are within acceptable tolerances.
  • Identifying and documenting potential performance errors or otherwise unusual results and escalating to senior lab personnel.
  • Preparing data analysis results for upload to LIMS system under the guidance of senior level staff.
  • Contributing to CAPA investigations, deviations, and resolution.
  • Assisting in maintaining laboratory equipment and may offer suggestions for new equipment.
  • Assisting in good housekeeping of the lab environment, consistent with 6S standards.
  • Assisting in maintaining adequate inventory.
  • Responsible for preparation of buffers and solutions for analysis, as required.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge within a specific discipline typically gained through extensive work experience and/or education.
  • Proficiency with relevant laboratory techniques.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices.
  • Strong technical knowledge of complex testing procedures and science supporting the analysis.
  • Proficiency with complex laboratory calculations regarding batches and specimens.
  • Ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment and resolve process issues.
  • Good computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.
