Instructional Designer Coordinator B - Contract - Philadelphia, PA
Proclinical is seeking an Instructional Designer Coordinator to support the development and delivery of predominantly online education programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will assist course instructors in the design or revision of online courses, handle technical aspects of course delivery, and contribute to student affairs work, program marketing/recruitment, events, strategic planning, or other special projects.
Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and experience related to instructional design and online course delivery.
- Working knowledge of educational technologies and learning management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with program instructors and staff.
- Ability to manage multiple course design projects simultaneously with various deadlines.
- Working knowledge of accessibility and copyright compliance for online courses.
- Preferred - Master's degree and/or instructional design related certification, experience with multimedia asset development, Canvas or similar LMS expertise.
The Instructional Designer Coordinator B responsibilities will be:
- Develop productive relationships with course instructors, supporting them in revising course materials, investigating new teaching strategies, using educational technology, and navigating departmental policies.
- Support the delivery of mostly online courses during the term, including posting of lecture videos and supporting guest lecturers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and leadership to prioritize tasks and gather/apply acceptance criteria.
- Take ownership of the course development and revision process, supporting faculty from ideation to launch of new and revised courses.
- Create online content for courses, workshops, professional development, and other online events.
- Collaborate with program staff on processes, policies, and best practices related to online teaching and learning, course development, and student engagement.
- Research relevant educational technology and develop best practices for tool use.
- Build and revise course sites in Canvas LMS and provide ongoing support and maintenance of those sites.
- Contribute to evaluation activities that assess course and program outcomes, including the overall student experience and community.
- Contribute to course quality assurance efforts and accreditation/compliance activities.
- Maintain public-facing information, such as program websites and handbooks, and assist with marketing and publicizing the programs.
- Coordinate online info sessions, seminars, workshops, new student orientation and special events.
- Serve as the liaison between the program and central online working groups.
