Proclinical is seeking a Global Strategic Sourcing Director to develop, implement, and lead the Global Sourcing strategy for Commercial and Medical Excellence categories. This role involves managing a significant portfolio spend and driving future growth. The successful candidate will provide global leadership within the procurement organization, develop global category strategies, secure contractual agreements, and optimize supplier relationships to enhance quality, delivery times, cost efficiency, and simplification.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a team of global category leaders and buyers.
  • Set and implement sourcing strategies to meet business goals.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders across divisions to align with business priorities.
  • Achieve procurement targets, improve supplier performance, and develop key supplier partnerships.
  • Enhance operational excellence and reduce costs through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Lead global category strategies and major strategic negotiations.
  • Participate in cross-functional cost reduction activities.
  • Ensure consistent adoption of procurement tools, methodologies, and frameworks.
  • Foster a partnership mindset within the procurement organization.
  • Develop staff and facilitate career paths, ensuring diversity and inclusive teamwork.
  • Lead procurement transformation initiatives.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or Procurement studies or Engineering is preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience of leading global sourcing & procurement activities in a complex multi-national organisation with a strong negotiation skillset.
  • Expertise in sourcing policies, costing systems, financial reporting, and quality management.
  • Proven people management, mentoring, and coaching capabilities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in global sourcing and procurement.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of driving strategic change.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and explain critical issues.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions, extensive global experience leading geographically dispersed teams.
