Responsibilities:

  • The client is currently looking for a Commissioning and Qualification Engineer for a Project in Stein (AG), Switzerland.
  • The Commissioning and Qualification (C&Q) Engineer is responsible for providing hands on support to the commissioning and qualification of all Equipment and Utility Systems installed at the xxxx Project, supporting all buildings and activities as required. The C&Q Engineer will act as support for
  • the execution scope under responsibilities of existing C&Q EPC teams:
  • Provide field support for the commissioning and qualification of the following utility and process systems which are monitored and controlled by the DeltaV DCS.
    • Black and Clean Utility generation, storage and distribution systems;
    • Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning for the classified and non-classified areas within the site manufacturing and utility areas.
    • Environmental Monitoring System.
    • Compounding and SIP/CIP system.
    • Other systems as required.
  • Execute and Review Commissioning and Qualification test protocols (using KNEAT electronic documentation system) including the following test steps.
    • Sequence of operation testing including start up, hold, abort, stop and emergency stop sequences.
    • Control Loop Tuning.
    • Pump and fan testing.
    • Alarm and interlock testing.
    • Troubleshooting and finding resolutions to mechanical and electrical issues found during commissioning. Escalation of issues in a proactive manner.
  • Support the integrated commissioning of the DeltaV system software, hardware and interfaces to the various process and utility systems listed above.
  • Support the reliable operation of the various automated systems by providing hands on engineering support to troubleshoot control system process control and operational issues.
  • Support the overall Project Team to collate supporting information to allow timely decisions to be made that will minimize cost, timeline and quality impact on the Project.
  • Guiding and supporting field execution ensuring that all equipment is commissioned according to The clients standards and procedure and in line with cGMP.
  • To ensure that any issues found are documented through KNEAT and raising project changes as required to ensure resolutions can be implemented in a timely manner.
  • Provides coaching and training to team members to develop overall team knowledge to ensure fast track commissioning can be achieved.
  • Ensures C&Q field execution is completed in a safe manner and following The clients HSE standards. This will include overall oversight of Lock-Out-Tag-Out preparation, RAMS preparation, PSHR completion, Method Statements, and Start-up activities.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or trade qualification in Engineering (Electrical / Chemical / Process Control, or related field).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of the Commissioning and Qualification team.
  • Proven experience in process commissioning is essential alongside a history in utility system commissioning.
  • Proven working history in DeltaV DCS hands on commissioning and troubleshooting including use of DeltaV Operate / Live and Control Studio.
  • Knowledge of applicable Regulatory Requirements and Codes of Practices for the Life Sciences industry, (desirable).
  • Experience using KNEAT for CQV test execution, (desirable).
  • Good Level in English, written and spoken / German a plus.
  • Considerable experience with cGMP
  • Field CQV execution experience.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within strict deadlines.
  • Working as part of a diverse group ensuring respect for all team members is shown in all activities.
  • Flexibility to work shift/extended hours as required and in line with legal requirements for working time regulations.
