Associate Scientist, Analytical Development (LC/MS) - Contract - Gaithersburg MD

Proclinical is seeking an Associate Scientist to join a dedicated team with a focus on Analytical Development (LC/MS).

Primary Responsibilities:

This role will focus on developing HPLC methods for nanoparticle vaccine products, characterizing drug substances and products, and supporting process development and stability studies. The successful candidate will need to have a proactive approach to experimental design and cross-functional collaboration.

Skills & Requirements:

  • MS in analytical science, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field along with 4+ years of industry experience in biopharmaceutical and/or vaccine development.
  • Or, BS in analytical science, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field along with 6+ years of industry experience in biopharmaceutical and/or vaccine development.
  • Ability to critically analyze data using statistical tools and compile technical reports.
  • Ability to define priorities and processes to achieve goals.
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is preferred.
  • Excellent record-keeping abilities to record, analyze and document analytical data to support regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of statistical tools.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills.

The Associate Scientist's responsibilities will be:

  • Develop HPLC methods for separating and identifying proteins and impurities in nanoparticle vaccines.
  • Lead experimental designs to characterize drug substances and products for various batches.
  • Follow SOPs to test in-process samples using HPLC for process development and stability studies.
  • Draft qualification and validation protocols for test methods.
  • Participate in cross-functional workflows and provide scientific guidance.
  • Apply new technologies to improve throughput and enhance product characterization.
  • Perform method transfers to QC, other groups, and external partners.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Maintain effective communication within Analytical Development and cross-functional teams.
  • Present scientific findings at internal and external meetings.

Compensation:

  • $35 to $40 per hour
