Proclinical is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our client's team in Cork. In this role, you will support the Payroll and Finance teams by preparing transactional and accrual journal entries, reconciling payroll-related general ledger accounts, and performing payroll data audits. You will also engage in various projects as needed, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of payroll-related journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Prepare month-end reconciliations of key payroll-related balance sheets and manage reconciliation of open items.
- Support Payroll Specialists with month-end activities.
- Coordinate with business partners for reporting, analysis, and monthly calls.
- Interact with internal and external auditors, supporting audits with timely and accurate data.
- Liaise with Controllership on requests.
- Provide SOX controls support and training.
- Lead initiatives to ensure compliance across accounting requirements.
- Collaborate with payroll managers to recommend process improvements.
- Create and update standard operating procedures regularly.
- Lead ad-hoc finance-related projects and systems testing.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant or equivalent accountancy qualification.
- Experience in Accounting, Finance, or Payroll roles within a multinational corporation.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-functional, multi-cultural environment.
- Proficient in Oracle/SAP and Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Commitment to customer service and maintaining financial compliance with GAAP.
