Proclinical are recruiting a Principal Computational Chemist for a biotech organisation. This role is on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
- Guide and assist with drug discovery projects using structural approaches.
- You will use inhouse AI technology to offer new compound designs.
- Cooperate with customers and collaborators, contribute to meetings, guide the presentation and answer queries.
- The ideal candidate will challenge present computational strategies and workflows to acknowledge crucial drug discovery queries.
- Perform research and report outcomes in journal articles, conference papers, and technical manuals.
- Other duties may be assigned to this role.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Educated to a PhD degree level in cheminformatics, bioinformatics, structural biology, medicinal chemistry or any similar field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical organisation or biotech, guiding drug discovery projects using structural approaches.
- Familiarity with computational drug design using both structure-based and ligand-based drug design.
- Expertise on cheminformatics and computational chemistry tools such as docking, molecular dynamics, etc.
- Coding abilities such as Python.
- Comprehension of machine learning strategies.
- Communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Works well with others.
- Able to resolve issues.
- Capable of handling various tasks simultaneously.
