Proclinical are recruiting a Principal Computational Chemist for a biotech organisation. This role is on a permanent basis.


Responsibilities:

  • Guide and assist with drug discovery projects using structural approaches.
  • You will use inhouse AI technology to offer new compound designs.
  • Cooperate with customers and collaborators, contribute to meetings, guide the presentation and answer queries.
  • The ideal candidate will challenge present computational strategies and workflows to acknowledge crucial drug discovery queries.
  • Perform research and report outcomes in journal articles, conference papers, and technical manuals.
  • Other duties may be assigned to this role.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Educated to a PhD degree level in cheminformatics, bioinformatics, structural biology, medicinal chemistry or any similar field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical organisation or biotech, guiding drug discovery projects using structural approaches.
  • Familiarity with computational drug design using both structure-based and ligand-based drug design.
  • Expertise on cheminformatics and computational chemistry tools such as docking, molecular dynamics, etc.
  • Coding abilities such as Python.
  • Comprehension of machine learning strategies.
  • Communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Works well with others.
  • Able to resolve issues.
  • Capable of handling various tasks simultaneously.
