Phlebotomist

Phlebotomist - Contract - Hagerstown, MD

Proclinical is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist who will be responsible for patient identification, specimen collection, and customer service duties. This is a contract position located in Hagerstown, MD.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, from 7:00am to 5:30pm, with Fridays off.

Skills & Requirements:

• Excellent patient interaction skills
• Proficiency in specimen collection and handling
• Ability to perform maintenance and quality control on medical equipment
• Strong customer service skills
• Knowledge of standard operating procedures in a healthcare setting

The Phlebotomist will:

• Greet and identify patients in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP)
• Obtain billing and testing information as per SOP
• Review test requisitions to ensure proper test collection
• Assemble necessary equipment for specimen collection
• Collect specimens for drug testing in line with SOP and order of the draw
• Match requisition to collection of tubes for completion
• Centrifuge specimens when necessary
• Perform regular maintenance and quality control on test kits and urinalysis equipment
• Prepare and package specimens for shipping to testing location in accordance with SOP
• Handle customer service duties, including phone inquiries and patient encounters
• Collect patient payments as per SOP

Compensation:

• $ 50 - $22.50/hour
