Maintenance Technician - Permanent - Philadelphia, PA
Proclinical is working alongside a biotechnology company who is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a role in Philadelphia, PA.

Primary Responsibilities:
This position focuses on supporting the installation and start-up of facilities equipment, troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and process utilities systems, and performing general building maintenance. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and operational efficiency of the facility.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Desired: Associates Degree, Trade School, or Technical Certification in HVAC/R, Electrical, or Plumbing.
  • Preferred: 4 - 5 of related experience in Facilities Maintenance and Calibration, especially in cell therapy manufacturing or BioPharma/Life Sciences (GMP Environment).
  • Required: Strong background in operations and maintenance of chiller/boiler plants, pumps, AHUs, and electrical systems including Emergency Generators, ATS's, and Switchgear.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Software (Blue Mountain) and Building Management Systems (Siemens Desigo or Insight).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to respond to critical facility alarms/alerts, including on-call.


The Maintenance Technician's responsibilities will be:

  • Support the installation and start-up of facilities equipment during construction fit-out phase.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and process utilities systems.
  • Perform repairs, installations, and upgrades to building components, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, furniture, and flooring.
  • Read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
  • Install and reconfigure furniture and equipment, and assist with personnel moves.
  • Ensure the safety of all personnel and equipment within the facility.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms from the Building Management System, including off-hours and weekends.
  • Develop spare parts plans and maintain inventory.
  • Execute work order requests and ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Maintain records on equipment technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues.
  • Establish programs to increase uptime and resolve equipment problems.
  • Work with external vendors for equipment service and repair.
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faults.
  • Support routine calibrations of equipment and instruments in a GMP space.
  • Utilize calibration equipment and standards to execute calibrations.
  • Perform other duties as required.
