Associate Scientist: Drug Product Development - Contract - New Haven, CT

Proclinical is seeking an Associate Scientist for Drug Product Development. In this role, you will design and execute development studies for clinical drug candidates and commercial products, focusing on characterizing protein drug stability using industry-standard methodologies. You will work both independently and as part of a team, prioritizing multiple tasks and projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will design and execute development studies for clinical drug candidates and commercial products, focusing on characterizing protein drug stability using industry-standard methodologies. They will work both independently and as part of a team, prioritizing multiple tasks and projects.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Degree in Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • Understanding of protein stability, thermodynamics, and protein degradation mechanisms.
  • Experience with H/UPLC, imaged capillary electrophoresis (iCE/Maurice), Ion Exchange Chromatography (IEX), Micro-flow imaging (MFI), light obscuration (LO), DLS, NanoTemper, and DSC.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with sub-visible particulates characterization and testing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with biophysical and analytical testing.
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines.
  • Experience with electronic record-keeping software like ELN, EndNote, and e-logbooks is a plus.
  • Ability to take initiative in problem-solving and finding scientific solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

The Associate Scientist: Drug Product Development's responsibilities will be:

  • Design and execute development studies for clinical drug candidates and commercial products.
  • Characterize protein drug conformational and colloidal stability using methods such as circular dichroism, differential scanning fluorimetry, analytical ultracentrifugation, and size-exclusion chromatography.
  • Conduct physicochemical characterization, particulate testing, and stability studies.
  • Assist in preparing internal technical reports on executed studies.
  • Participate in cross-functional development teams.

Compensation:

  • USD 18.00 - 22.75 per hour
