Account Director/Medical Writer - Permanent - Hybrid role within Toronto, Canada

Proclinical is seeking an Account Director / Medical Writer to join a dedicated team.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role includes managing day-to-day business with existing client base, providing exceptional customer experience and strategic guidance. The successful candidate will also develop recommendations and solutions tailored to our customers' needs, facilitate strategy discussions, and execute client projects efficiently.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in the life sciences (MSc or higher) OR Associates or Bachelors degree in
    Business, Management, or Science, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant
  • Minimum of two years' experience working as a Medical Writer or in a related role.
  • 3+ years experience within the pharmaceutical industry OR 3+ years experience within a
    healthcare/life sciences/digital or medical communication agency.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of client brands and the legal, compliance, and regulatory environment of life sciences companies.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal skills; other languages (such as French) are an asset
  • Exceptional customer service, communication (verbal and written), and active listening skills.
  • Proven experience building strong online experiences with a fluency in digital trends and user
    experience - solid understanding of a content management system (CMS) is a definite asset.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and easily through virtual interactions.
  • Experience running live/virtual presentations, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills, with above-average ability to prioritize project tasks as well as issues that arise.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically about customer, market, and business issues.
  • Self-directed, with the ability to be productive without direct supervision.
  • Thrive in a very fast-paced environment; able to adapt and pivot quickly and easily.
  • Can navigate through ambiguity and develop processes when required.
  • Proficient in G Suite, MS Office tools, and a keen ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and jargon.
  • Some flexibility in work hours, with occasional early morning, evening, or weekend web meetings
  • Adept at problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both individually and in a team environment.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with great attention to detail.

The Account Director / Medical Writer's responsibilities will be:

  • Manage day-to-day business with our existing client base by providing exceptional customer
    experience and ongoing strategic guidance
  • Propose, conceptualize, and develop recommendations and solutions that bring value to our
    customers based on their specific needs.
  • Facilitate strategy brainstorming discussions and touchpoint kick-off meetings to
    understand client objectives, key issues, and insights being sought.
  • Plan and execute client projects: insight gathering, peer influence programs, or virtual education, selecting from our
    suite of technologies and tools and using creativity and ingenuity to help our clients deliver
    on their objectives efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Author content/questions for asynchronous online touchpoints (activities) that will gather
    valuable insights and feedback from healthcare professionals, patients, and other
  • Identify program metrics, measure success, and highlight achievements through summary reports and activity tracking
  • Conduct client check-ins to ensure satisfaction throughout the customer journey, leveraging Digital Solutions Specialists for invoicing, programming, portal designs, and project management.
  • Plan and execute client debriefs to review key insights and recommendations from touchpoints, aiding clients in planning future projects.
  • Continually seek technical innovations and opportunities to improve the customer (clients and
    advisors) experience.
  • Lead and manage workload and communication with the internal team of Digital Solutions
    Specialists, Medical Writers, and other partners using internal software programs.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle from sales demo to proposal generation, project execution, and debrief.
  • Generate new and continued sales opportunities through consistently exceeding client expectations and developing long-term relationships.
  • Work closely with Account Directors and Digital Solutions Specialists to produce
    high-quality executive summaries from verbatim transcript reports, as well as from live web
    meetings, webcasts, and in-person meetings.
  • Attend web meetings (and in-person meetings if required) and take notes of the discussions.
  • Extract key insights and develop strategic recommendations based on advisor or participant
    discussions and feedback.
  • Proofread, review, or create copy decks for asynchronous touchpoints based on materials or topics provided by the client to ensure that the client can gather relevant insights and feedback from the participants.

Compensation:

  • $80,000 to $85,000 per annum
